Is this Ryobi tyre infltor any good?
Hi guys. Im looking for a tyre inflator. Is this one any good?
Its only R650 and if I am reading it correctly it goes up to 2.4 bar? Ive seen posts where guys have posted their tyre pressures for different conditions from 2 - 2.4 bar. What tyre pressures should an SFA like mine be for different rd conditions?
Thanks!

Depending on what tyres you have fitted, 2.2 to 2.4 bar should be fine for mostly tar and 1.8 to 2 bar for mostly gravel. Problem with that unit is its too small and will labour towards the end when inflating from a low pressure all the way up to 2.4 (if it gets there in reality). Rather get something a bit more robust. Do yourself a favour and go past 4x4Direct in Brackenfell to see what they have - in all likelihood for the same or slightly higher cost you could get something of better quality and far more suitable.

Should be fine for normal platkar in town. The bigger sized wheels take a lot of air to fill, and even though this one might do it, it will take quite a while to inflate

Nope.. after 2 tyres and 2 cups of roadside coffee it will overheat and cut out. Those are not really meant for us 4x4'ers. It is meant for the city slicker with an Audi S5 in the garage who needs to get to work and he notices a flat tyre. Rather get a decent compressor that can take the punch. I have used a few compressors in my life, and I am very familiar with the frustrations of waiting for a cheap budget compressor to cool down while the other guys are revving up their engines to get going.. 4x4direct.co.za sells a nice one.. http://www.4x4direct.co.za/tyre-care-c- ... -p-550.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have one of these and it works great..

Best is to read the label. Some say you can only run for a short period- more of a gimick. As mentioned in other posts, save up a bit more and get a proper heavy duty 4x4 inflator that has a higher pressure out put -if that is the correct term.

The word Dzombo is derived from the Tsonga word Dzombolo meaning ‘to wait for something that is slow in coming.

After dune riding on 33" BFG A/T at 0.6 bar it inflates all 4 tyres to 2.2 bar with no trouble.
Handle gets a bit hot, but that's it
