Tracker draining battery

Post by Aquanaut »

After I fitted my dual battery system, the battery indicator showed that my primary battery remained fully charged for a long period of time, but recently the led lights are showing one yellow light above the red ones. A friend told me that once the battery unit in the tracker goes flat, it draws from the vehicle battery.
Can anyone confirm this, and how do I stop it from draining my battery?

Yep had that in my old vehicle. Only thing is to replace tracker. They usually make you sign another "x" term contract and it's basically free

Or you just get them to replace the battery of the tracker unit.

IIRC my tracker company opted for a whole new "upgraded" unit with no battery?

That would probably be Netstar .... they have a unit that draws less and draws off the vehicle battery (there is a small backup battery built into the unit that will only last for a day or two, but that's only for if the vehicle battery is disconnected.
