Piesangkloof (again) 9 April.

Post by Oupa Stig »

I know the club has been there before, but I like the place.
We are having a little fundraiser for my Autistic son's school in Midrand, and as part of it a group of guys off the Facabook page Gauteng 4x4 Hookups are joining us at Piesangkloof on 9 April.

This is not a Hilux club event, purely a get-together for all and sundry with a slightly elevated entrance fee, the profits going to the school for whatever they might need.

I'm throwing this on here as well, open invitation to all, to come and join us. The Hookups crowd is not bad, fairly wel-behaved, and relatively capable. Not your typical "hold my beer and whatch this" lot. :cooldude:

We will be doing the 3 hour route, with a braai agterwards. Bring your own braai goodies and refreshments. Entrance is R300,00, slightly elevated from the normal R200,00 fee so as to make a bit of profit for the school.

If you are interested in going, start a list below  .

(hope this is OK, Mods...  ) No probs. Good cause. :winkx:

Nice trip this and Mike (the owner) is a great host, for those that have not done this trail it is truly worth it and the views of the Hartebeespoort valley from above are awe inspiring.

Sorry Mickey SWAMBO is getting older on that day but have fun and good luck.

Groete

Skuus ek kom nou eers terug, Hennie.
Ons wil die trail so teen 9:30 aanpak, so as jul so van 9uur af daar aankom, forms teken ens.

The Jimny's weakpoint is a combination of steep hills, and washed out roads (cross axle holes), and the lack of diff lock.

You need to keep up the revs a bit, and then is just to fast to crawl through the obstacle....

In many many trails I had this issue twice .... One spot at Two Oceans - it was washed out after heavy rains. One short section at Bojaankop.

Hope the guys that know this trail can give you good advise.

Bring the Jimny, we will assist where needed. Really a bunch of nice guys and I was told that Piesangkloof is really not that difficult.

Jimny will be OK. Those things are more capable than you think, and there are lots of decent blokes who'll gladly play guide where needed. And we treasure our own vehicles, will not let you damage yours either :D:

That being said, all who want to go, please throw me an email at bmcloete9@gmail.com. Then I'll reply with an attachment - the indemnity form for Pieasangkloof. Please complete the form and send back to me. I'll then send it on to Piesangkloof. They need the completed indemnities by the 8th, so please don't sit on it for too long. Also forward to anyone else you might have invited please.

No indemnity, no trail

Hennie, Rigardt, dankie, ek het jul vorms, alles is reg vir Saterdag so om en by9:00 of 9:30 sodat ons by 10:00 kan begin ry, alhoewel ek uit ondervinding weet party ouens mag dalk laat wees....
Dit lyk of daar darem so amper 20 voertuie gaan wees.
