From Hilux to Fortuner - Steering Query

Post by stephanhuyser »

Dear TUNA friends,

New tothe site, finding many of the discussions very insightful!

I have just upgraded from a d/c 2.7 VVTi Hilux to a 4.0 V6 Fortuner Auto 4x4. What a great experience!! I have however noticed that the steering feels more stiff on the TUNA. Is this as a result of the 4WD, compaired to previous back wheels on the Hilux?

Regards
Stephan

The hilux had BFG on 31x10.5

The Fortuner has the std General tyres, however the vehicles has done 53k, so the tyres are close to replacement. there is about 2.5 - 3mm left.

Yip the BF's will certainly be easier on the wheel(less than the road tyres), also with the limited life on the existing, will also result in the steering being heavier.

And if the allignment is done even better
