Advise on CAT removal..

Post by Black Sam »

When removing the cats do you have a problem with warning lights staying on???

I spoke to the guys at JR exhausts in order to remove the cats, according to the owners son there is a problem with warning lights, so he suggested I follow the complete removal path which costs R12 500.00. This is too steep for me.

Please who has done this, what did it cost and where can I have it done?
My fuel consumption has gone up slowly but surely from 12.5 l/100km to 14.8 l/100km

Your advise will be appreciated.

I removed the cats on my 4l V6 Prado - Supa Quick Menlyn did the job for me.

They removed the 2 rear cats and replaced them with mini cats, then removed the front cat "material" in the manifold.

All in all cost me R1800.

My understanding is that you need to replace the cats with mini cats for the computer to get the fuel mixtures correct. I know on the Prado that if you don't then the engine light comes on.

Ek het my '07 3 maande terug laat doen.

Pre cat is vir fuel mixture lesing vir rekenaar
