Hallo almal

Dankie

I'll post some pics of the cab on monday.
It has some nasty rust on the left hand side roof gutter and in the door channel.
Hopefully it is still recoverable.
Will see once the paint and rust is off.

Not looking forward to it though.

Calaude, when you load a group of photos, always use the "Place Inline" from the bottom up, then your pics will be in the correct order.

As you upload photos from your PC, you could also insert comments in the box that opens as well.

I fixed the first one for you... you can practice on the others! ;)

That's fine! You can edit your original post, work from the bottom up (but ignore the trailer now, it is correct) and then "Place Inline" whichever picture is referenced in the dropbox next to "Place Inline". Simply click the blank space where you wish this picture to be placed.

Top right of each post is an 'Edit" tab. Click on it, then look at what I have done with your trailer post (remember to start from the bottom picture in the dropbox), and take it from there.

Have been busy again.
Started on the load bin inspection panels. Got them stripped off and will start panelbeating them soon.
Then onto the doors.
Started sanding them with a long sanding block to get them straight again.
And beleive me they were not even close to straight. :shock2: :shock2:
You can see the different layer of paint so just imagine all the waves in them before.
Next is primer and things are nom looking up again. Clean straight doors with no rust. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
And then onto the bonnet. I needed to re bond all the ribs on the inside as they were loose. Hopefully there will be no rattles :beg:

Just a quick update.
The weather has been really crap lately for painting but I did manage to get a few things done.
Firstly I got the other three doors straight and primed.
Then I put some colour on one door to see if I actually like it.
Please give comments on the colour :beg: :beg:
Then I started on the bonnet I bought second hand and what a surprise :shock2: :shock2: :aggresive: :aggresive:
It was worse than my pirate part but I will get it straight.

CLaude, thats coming along really nicely. I am about to start work on Rokarok again.

what is the name of the colour you decided on? is it a solid colour or base coat/ clear coat?

I am undecided on my colour - game drive vehicle green or a sandy beige colour

keep up the great work

Hey Rick
The colour is a solid pastel. No clear coat or any funny stuff.
Im not sure on the name as it was custom mixed for me.

And the lovely weather continues. :aggresive:  :aggresive:
But some progress have been made.
I got my new roof skin. :yahoo: :yahoo:
My original Hilux bonnet in 75% complete.
And I discovered a curve on the left hand front door that need attention. :shock2: :shock2:
I started the load bin door on saturday but the rain stopped my from painting the primer to see the extent of work that need doing.

Sounding good, glad you got the roof skin, I'm waiting on stock

Could you help out though and possibley paste some clearer pics of the new skin showing the lip for the drip rails.

I'll need to make up my own but not sure how much meat/edge is on the new skin.

Thanks Zane

The pics'll be greatly appreciated, also if you could post step by step pics of the removal of the old skin, it'd be even more appreciated :D: :beg:

Could you PM or e-mail the contact details of the places in Cape Town that have the other skins, my 1 is now taking long to arrive

Thanks,

If you find one...... :beg: :beg:

sorry Trevor. Got a VR6 to do.
Anyway. a little update.
My new compressor arrived so now ive got air.
then I found a set of 10J rims to go with the new look.
just need to paint them aswell. Then I managed to get one door completed and I am impressed. with the look and my GOOD MATE Gustav. He is the polish king. Just look at the shine.
Then I got the bonnet 90% done and still need to do alot of sanding on the tailgate.
