Hey noob qeustion

Hey just signed up i want to do a 3" bodylift on my 86 lux 2" shackles it allready has 2" sus lift.The bloke told me i will need 2" extented brake lines but what about the bodylift which will be 3" will i need 5" lines and were from. Also what problems mite arise doing this lift ?

Welcome to the forum. Not only will you need longer brake lines, you will need to replace your pitman arm to handle the body lift.

Your vehicle will become more TOP heavy which will make it less stable on the road...
You will have to watch your speed and cross winds more.....
According to some of the well educated people on this forum it will increase your fuel consumption a bit too.....

So what about a 2" bodylift then i wont need to change my pittman arms and i can just get 4" intended brake lines also will be starting a build thread have big plan for it wich includes comp tray etc !

Welcome to the forum. Not only will you need longer brake lines, you will need to replace your pitman arm to handle the body lift.

I'm sorry to disagree, Cassie.

The steering box is chassis mounted so a body lift won't affect pitman drag-link may however have to lengthen the steering column shaft. Other hassles include the repositioning of the radiator (dropping it) .... some wiring and cables might give you a minor problem .... fuel filler will need to be extended ... if you lift too high you may have a hassle with the gear levers.

To my mind, a body lift serves no useful purpose, unless it's done for clearance to accommodate bigger tyres or a bigger motor that doesn't fit under the bonnet .... otherwise there are more negatives than positives associated with it.

I have radiator drop brackets from my 92 surf hope the fit they should.
