Luxter's brother, KGB.

Post by Hoppy »

Leon bought this rolled Hilux called "Gert" from a guy named, you guesed it, Gert.
The roof was fairly flat, the loadbox rear doors etc, damaged extensively, so it was to be used as parts, but i convinced Leon to give me, my trusty old grinder, a Plasma cutter and a mig a go at it.
Work started almost two years ago and progress was quick, but Leon's ball joints packed up and he had to have pirate ones fitted in both knees, his wheel alignment is now set and he is back in 2wd high range so we started finishing-off the project a few months ago.

The results of many very late nights and angry wifes;

PS; Rumour has it that it's going to be entered in the challenge series next year, so have i built something that will beat Luxter?

Very nice job Alan. I must say I am thankful that Bulldog is too far for you to tackle him with your "trusty old grinder, a Plasma cutter and a mig" :mrgreen:

Original 4Y engine? Some pics of the engine bay would be in order :)

Daai agter deurtjies werk nog, hulle is net groot genoeg om by die Engel, kompressor en recovery gear uit te kom, waarvoor daar ook net genoeg plek is.
Sal later mooier fotos in die dag neem
