31 to 33.... How does this look....

Post by MOFASA »

So been looking at it for a while now....
So Friday when i got home from work I put the 33's onto MOFASA...
WOW what a difference....

Went out for a test drive but didn't make it out the gate.... :o:
The 33's were rubbing at half lock turn.... :frustrated:

So Saturday morning came and the axel move started....
I followed the "Louis" steps and did the entire job on my own with a little help to refit the diff.... took me around 6 to 7 hrs....

JUST one important point is you DO need to make the propshaft longer by min 40mm, which i will be doing by means of a spacer made at work from EN19T so it will be stronger than the original propshaft material.....
That I will fit this week.....

I didn't take pics cos they would be the same as the thread from Louis....

But i did take these pics....

And im very chuffed with the entire outcome....

Looks good! Your standard 4Y is gonna battle a bit with those bigger tyres on the open road (hills and acceleration). :eh: You gonna have to EFI now! :D:
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Johno

It looks very nice. Why not use the 31,s for daily uses and the 33,s when in the bush. Will save you a lot on your fuel bill.
