Just fit a little LED warning indicator that lights up when it's on ... otherwise you never know if the switch has been bumped and accidentally engaged. There is a terminal for this purpose at the diff itself that earths when the locker engages. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Good idea - the standard units have that feature.

You might be able to get from a dealer, you could also try breaker yards. I imagine that Gearmax should also keep something similar if not original Toyota, or al least advise where to get.

This is what it looks like ........

The first indicator (red) glows when the switch is activated - the second one (green) lights when the locker kicks in at the diff. When one switches off to disengage the locker the green one might still remain on if the diff is under a bit of wind-up stress and the locker cannot disengage. As soon as the wind-up is relieved the locker kicks out and the light goes off - This is particularly handy if you've switched off coming onto a hard surface, to avoid damage.
