Hi all

2 months ago i purchased this SFA from a Chap in Sandton.
IMG_E0164.JPG

initially i fell in love with the SFA but after driving her back home in east london I realised im a diesel man (i have a D4d as my daily)
the 4y motor is perfect Current Mods

blueprinted motor
head is ported and flowed with a cam (was done by van der linde)
I noticed that this motor must have been Turbo'd at some stage because the sump has been modified for oil pick up.
IMG_E0164.JPG
wanting to stick with a Toyota motor i found a 2CT motor for a give away price (yes i have heard all the comments about it ) .
I will be adding a slightly bigger turbo , inter cooler also redid the pump and injectors replaced .
i have sent the head in to be checked skimmed and also the shims done.

luckily i found a bell housing for a great price As well.

Hey Kuhmo’s 33s. One of the reasons for the rebuild .

The broad tires gives a beautiful look especially on those bulky fenders of the SFA.

Yes, I have the Kumhos 33x12.5 but those in the pic look exceptionally wide, maybe just the angle. They do wonders in the sand.

Managed to get a Clutch that could fit the Flywheel , i also went for a better clutch but had to slightly skim the edges off to make it work in the pressure plate :)

We've used grabbers on our work vehicles and the did disappoint a little. .

My wife has Radars on her Tuna. She hit a nast pothole the other day and bent the rim.

Tyre still fine. No bubbles, cuts nothing.

She had the rim fixed at our local tyre guys and they've put Radars on all of their vehicles.

So far they don't seem to be too bad.

May be using wheel adaptors!
I was considering using wheel adaptors for the looks as well, with my 31" though.
With the wheels sticking out like that, does it not through stones onto the body, scratching it?

Hi

No wheel adaptors 10 J rims with a proper offset.

yes mud goes everywhere, once the Motor Conversion is done then i will focus on fabricating bigger arches.

Thanx for the reply.. Will have a look at the Grabber X3's then but then I also read somewhere that the sidewalls are not good and then somewhere else that there is a newer version with better sidewalls...Anyone anything on that?

personally I'm not a grabber fan. but they are well Priced . why don't you chat to this guy 082 695 6658 , he does allot of import tires, his service was very good. and saved me allot of money on my daily's Mud terrains.

Truck is currently @ home , I opened up a can of worms whilst trying to wire up the diesel Motor. if there is one thing I hate in life its butchered wiring.
so I ripped most have the harness apart. but seems like I have to redo most of it. (which will calm my soul)

I haven't posted for a While, been busy with the odds and ends at home, No progress picks as I was involved in a affirmative shopping incident which rendered my phone donated to a economic disadvantaged person.

I have wired up the Truck :) all new wiring etc.

and I have managed to start her , she is still sitting at almost zero Boost but sounds insane.

now the tiding can start.

below is a video :)

Justin, you seem to know your way around. Should be good once it is completed to your requirements.
Sometime I wish I had the knowhow to do a project like this.

Hi Justin. Looking very good so far, keep it up!

What tubing have you used for the bumper and who did your bending?

If not already in your plans, it might be worthwhile considering incorporating a winch box in that bumper. A stinger will also look great. :winkx:

Hi MD

Thanks , I used about 40mm mild steel tubing, luckily i have a friend with a bender,

I don't like the winch box, Im building a winch carrier so i can move it from the front to the back , or only have it on the bakkie when I need it.

I don't like the stinger , im very happy with the way it came out.

It started off as a Hilux group on watsapp but now there are all sorts and the lux's are being outnumbered. :D:
