KZTE Security

Post by WayneMan »

Hello guys

I got a KZTE which Im paranoid someone will steal.
Does anyone have any sugegstions or tips I could use to prevent the engine from being hot wired or started but unauthorised means? Im looking to modify the engine electronics in such a way that it is very difficult to get the engine started.
What other options are there to beef up the security ?

Your sugegstions would be greatfully appreciated.

Hi Thabo

The KZ-TE does get knicked, my first was a 2003 model which I had for a week before it was stolen in the church yard in Centurion. I suspect they export them into Africa. That did not discourage me though cos I'm on my second one.

I have a few tricks and relays to "beef" up security and so far no hassles. The only way to nick it now is either to pick it up or tow it, but I go anywhere with a little bit more peace of mind.

Regards.

Hi Ooms

I would apreciate a PM with the security info you have been so kind to forward to the other members. Looks like there are alot of guys wanting to hang on to their vehicles. I cant blame them, i feel kinda nervous every time i leave mine parked anywhere other than in my driveway behind lock and key.

Thanx

Hi Mudavanhu. This is an old thread and "OOOMS" is no longer active on the forum. Hopefully someone still has that info and can forward it to you. There were other threads here on the forum that dealt with anti theft ideas that included "secret" battery isolators, methods of mechanical and electro mechanical fuel cut-offs, and electronic cut-offs.

Just do a search using key words like Anti-theft, immobilizer, fuel cut-off, fuel solenoid and security. :winkx:
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
