Additional leaf spring Hilux IFS

Post by Toppie4x4 »

I've added an additional leaf spring to my 2004 Hilux 2.7 and gain 30 mm lift......................I still cannot believe it. Before I started with the job I made sure both wheels have the same tyre pressure 2.5kpa. Measurement before fitment 850mm form floor till under wheel arch. Fitted the two leaf springs on either side and drive around the block (few speed bumps as well) Took the new measurement 880mm. I never thought that one more blade +- 10mm thick can make this difference. By using two ratchet straps I was able to do one side within 45minutes. This is the only way I could fit the new longer centre bolt without removing the entire springs pack. Use 8.8 grade bolt.
