IDENTIFY THIS

Post by JAMES399 »

I want to install a limited slip center section in my '03 Hilux 4 x 4. But I have no idea what type of rear axle is installed in my truck. I have looked online at photos of different Toyota 4 x 4 rear axles, but none match up with mine. All trucks sold in Colombia are 1 ton rated, so maybe this is part of the problem. Here are some photos.

Anyone know the model number of this guy ?? Thanx in advance.

Hi James,

Can you maybe post a picture from the rear of the diff?

Maybe type your vin into toyodiy.com and see if you can see the spec there?

Looks like it's the standard Toyota diff that was used in the 2.2 / 2.4 petrol and 2.4 / 2.8 diesel models. LSD kits were (and probably still are) available for these diffs.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Thanks Mud. I checked and you are right. I'm contacted a shop and set up an appointment for them to rebuild the center section and install a Limited Slip unit.
