SUSPENSION UPGRADE

Post by stephanvaneeden »

Wil graag suspension doen.

Enige insette ?

My lorrie het al redelik baie ekstras op en ek hou daarvan dat hy bietjie hoer staan as standaard.

Old Man Emu!

Hi Guys.
Tjokkie is right my suspension was good until he fitted the spacers on top of it which then caused the shock to break.
1)I replaced the shocks both sides at my expense
2)Replaced cv boot etc.
3)Finally gave him his money back in full with my suspension in his vehicle still which he promised my dad he would then return our goods after he fits the EFS.
4)Then sent a sms to tell me hes selling the goods for his expenses.Which he did.Theoretically it was not his and sold it for spare change.
So Rikus well done you put it out there how you do business and personally i tried my best.To now slag me off shows your true colurs pal.

Please guys, I do not care what other say. DO NOT FIT ANY SPACER MORE THAN 10MM ON TOP OF ANY HILUX VIGO FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY WITH ANY AFTERMARKET SUSPENSION, YOU WILL BREAK SOMETHING. BEEN THERE DONE IT.

To come to Darrell's defence. In all the years I owned Bolt(SFA), I had nothing by excellent service for Mikem! Bolt had an OME suspension fitted, which I mod'd with various Mikem parts like extended shackles, bushes, inter blade spacers and anti friction pads. When Darrell supplied me the wrong front shackles, he personally delivered the correct parts to my residence. Who does that? Hoppy yes... but it's rare in this day and age!

Is this statement only valid for Aftermarker Suspension ?, What 20mm spacer on a standard suspension?

EFS = R15500 - nuwe tegnologie in skokbrekers - of so se hulle..
Mikem = R18000 of daar rond
TJM = R18800
OME = R21000 met greasable shackles.
Stel nie belang in Ironman nie..

I also need suspensions for both my Hiluxes and appreciate every bodies input as to what to buy and suggestions, at the end of the day that is what we want.
Please guys can we do so without personally taking someone on and braking him or his business down. Rather make a suggestion of what you like and what not without throwing mud. M2CW

I have Camel suspension all round and it eats up the Transkei roads, I love it. Tried the roads without the upgrade and could feel how hard the Transkei roads are on standard suspensions, and am sure in a couple of days your bakkie would fall apart.

Visited Darrel at Mikem yesterday to fit Mikem suspension to my BIL's Fortuner. I was absolutely shocked to see that the Fortuner shocks were totally worn after only 25000km's. One of each (front and rear) were totally shot, you could compress the shock fully and then it would take around 2 minutes for the shocks to extend back to normal again.

Obviously the before and after results were chalk and cheese. I know this has been said before, but Darrel knows his stuff. My Hilux is booked for when he returns from leave!

I have fitted iron man suspension (2012 hilux dc 4x4 4.0), was the best price I could get. Rear has 400 kg constant blades. A mate of mine runs iron man suspension in front with a bullbar (D4D dc). He also needed to fit a spacer to lift the nose a bit. He drives the vehicle quite hard, especially in the dunes, no probelms. I have also fitted a bullbar. I then fitted a 20mm spacer on top of the shock, purchased from la sport to level the bakkie out. Looks good now but am a little concerned about CV angle/top a-arm interference with coil spring on full extension. I have however done some 4x4 routes with no problems yet. Will load the vehicle with 750 kg just to check the vehicles stance once it is loaded.
