Hilux 4x4 Forum

Hi all.

I have a 2013 model Hilux SR5 with Sat nav. It's quite annoying how a passenger can't type in an address while the car is moving. I have to pull over to the side of the road to enter in the address.

Is there a mod which can be done which allows me to bypass this "safety" feature?

For some strange reason the SATNAV is not made available on the Toyota Hiluxes shipped in South Africa. It is therefore unlikely that a local guy will be able to tell you if there is a workaround as we do not have exposure to the Toyota system.

I cant type anything onto the on-board display of mine while the car moves. That includes Radio or phone screen ( not that i really would want too) But I can see the necessity with SATNAV. They must take safety very seriously.

It's a silly design because it still allows u to select some things but when it gets to the page where u have to enter the address it greys out.
