Made some adaptors

Laser cut
Cnc Drilled
Tapped

I use howe trowout bearings

David, please excuse my ignorance... but is this adapter plate used for mating the lexus bellhousing to a non-standard(non-lexus) autobox??

I have the D4D. How reliable is the throw out bearing vs the oem external clutch slave and what clutch would be used with this set up?

Tx David, again another question for clarity(for me)... this adapter allow you to use the std 1UZ bellhousing and mate it to the SFA manual box??

I know the guys usually use a totally different bellhousing to match the 1UZ to the manual box. If I'm correct what are the benefits of going the adapter route over the whole bellhousing?

My concern with the complete bellhousing is the quality. If its not made right it can be skew and cause damage and it can crack. Provisional pricing of the bellhousings is around R2500 depending who you get it from. So R590 is a great option. Flywheels around R2400. SO: That is almost the price of a motor :wth:

All parts on Howe Trow out can be replaced
o rings etc

But the guys in States and Aus doesn't have props with them

As to Clutch ... 2.7 Hilux or Old supra or 3 Ton Dyna Truck

all depends on the flywheel .

Mr B

my current box are a frankenstein (Old series) R154 with sfa R1fa case transfer (both top shift) running duals .

All Sfa Hilux can bolt up with these adaptor

The reason i'm prefering these adaptors are that the cast Belhousings
From suppliers around does have weak spots , crack , skew etc

Thats why i trust the factory auto belhousing

And its cheaper :laugh2:

David, just a stupid question. By putting in an adaptor plate doesn't it prevent the the spigot from going in deep enough by the thickness of the plate?

Nice way to go. Myself I would stick to the internal throw out thrust bearing instead of cutting a gap out the side of the bell to
get the fork thru. You say that you can mate it to a W range box ? My understanding is that the R range box has a longer spigot shaft
and enturn alows for the thickness of that plate. Myself I would not go for a W range box behind a V8, I think the gears will land up in the prop shaft in a few days time.

+1

Just an example ,

my old 3rz belhousing are alot deeper
and the auto belhouseing 10.225 shallow

So the the plate 10mm ensures that the spigot still sits in the same

So correct me if I'm wrong.

What you are saying is that the "total depth" of the lexus bellhousing + the adapterplate is the same as the "total depth" of the standard sfa bellhousing?
