Auto gearbox oil change
What is the correct way to drain and refill the Lexus outo gearbox and do you use only the Toyota recomended gearbox oil?

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
Help ni as enjin af is ni, oil level gaan verkeerd lees.

Re: Auto gearbox oil change

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
Hoppy, help bietji hier.
Dex 2.

Re: Auto gearbox oil change

Re: Auto gearbox oil change

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
By verkoeler of by pypie.

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
need to 1st mention that I don't have a vehicle with one of these gearboxes
however have some experience with other type of gearbox
so let me mention what I learned
on the jeep, there are no drain plugs to force the pan to come off to also do an inspection, some guys fit a drain plug to avoid the mess, however the pan still needs to come off to change both filters anew inspect
over that some auto gearboxes have filters inside the gearbox that either need to be changed of cleaned
then on the jeep there is a magnet on the inside of the pan that needs to be cleaned and inspected as to what sizes of dirt and grit are on the magnet
small/fine/very fine dirt grit filling is normal
then its always good to always use the correct type of oil recommended in auto boxes, and always the right level.

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
every thing what you say Fernando is true, and I know that, but to get all the oil out of the torque converter is the problem. Are there a spesific way to do so?

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
again I don't know these Toyota gearboxes, however on the jeep auto gearboxes, one can not get all the oil out.
on the jeep, after a total rebuilt its takes 13qt, on a service max 7qt
draining the torque converters is always an issue, and believe with out having it in your hand that it can't be done
again I don't know these gearboxes specifically

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
I myself have done a lot of research on this topic and have to date not found any other info. As Fernando said above, I would then suggest dropping the box.kfxnando wrote:again I don't know these Toyota gearboxes, however on the jeep auto gearboxes, one can not get all the oil out.

Re: Auto gearbox oil change
sorry to keep pushing the jeep way of doing things, however its all I know, and just trying to help
its well know accepted that the gearboxes don't get drained completely, and that is from the manufacturer
and some of the smaller jeep gearboxes are made by the same factory/brand as the some of the Toyota auto gearboxes, even the splines on the main shaft are the same
hope this helps
