Wild small buck in the City

Post by Niel »

Fransdw2002 and I went for a drive this morning and as we reached an open field behind the new shopping centre in Vredekloof Heights we spotted a duiker in the field. If the door was not locked I would have fallen out the vehicle. There are houses on two sides of this open piece of land and a very busy road on the other and a shopping centre and again a very busy road.

It was great so see the little fella in the city. Goes to show you don’t have to go that far to experience the wild.

Shhhhhhhhh…..

Hi Niel, not to long ago I used to have a client near to where the old Fruit & Veg was, often in the early morning we used to find a couple of Duiker there. Guess they got nowhere to go, so they go behind that new shopping centre, and the golf driving range.

Keep this a secret, soon some idiotic “stads japie” may try to do local hunting, or even worse, use dogs to hunt them down.

Yes, always a real danger, would like to capture them and release them somewhere where there is no hunting allowed. Small buck are very sensative and might die of stress ......

What can one doe to re-locate them. Some of the nature experts :?:

Bennie, I think it is time to take some serious action here!!

As a start, please break something on Eric's Hilux while you are there, or at least bend the aerial.

How are we doing on changing those names to:

BLOUBUL-Niel and

BLOUBUL-Kaspaas

Hi Niel,

I am watching the Lou Ulle insurgents very carefully. We have, in fact, an Administrator in the Cape, I think he might be on leave. I shall dutifully fall in and assume his responsibilities until his return.

I have the other Lou Ul Administrator under control, he is here with me at the moment, and I will not let him loose on my computer. For the moment, you are safe, my friend!

Any suggestions as to what I should perhaps change the User-Names of all those ending in -"bul"? I have it in my power to do so!

Hi Ewald,

Will sort you out with something as soon as I'm back at work. The ones in the picture I posted are the baby Hyts, they are good for about 1-2Km on the open road, but less if used in a vehicle.

Ewald,

Yes, it appears that the Lou Ul Phantom is loose again. I will be declaring open season on hunting the Phantom ("Die "Skim") very, very soon. I have put in a call to the A-Team, am expecting their reply any time now. They specialise in fighting Crime & Corruption.
