Good price 87 Hilux?
I can get a '87 Hilux with a aftermarket sprayjob. It has got Ltd towbar and bullbar which is chromed. The sidesteps en rollbar looks to be from a new Hilux which is also chromed. The suspension has been lifted en 33" Kumho tyres on. What would a good starting bid? Please help I would reall like to buy this car.

Hi Jurie
Is it a d/c or s/c?
And what engine does it have in?

Re: Good price 87 Hilux?
that price is far too high for an '87 .... you could get a clean '97 for that money! Offer him 45k, no more!

Jurie
If the spray-work looks that good up close in person and the rest of the vehicle is not a complete dog with stuffed interior and badly abused transmission and suspension parts etc and rust repairs was done decent, R 75k is not a bad price. But make sure its an honest vehicle not just one with some bling to cover/eye blind you from its faults On SFA's year model does not count that much, the condition of the car and the extra's is what determines the price. If that was my van in good nick, I too would not let it go for R 50K
Start negotiating at R 65K and see what happens, maybe R 70K is a good compromise for it but that is just if all is done as good as the photo appears, make sure they did strip it down during the respray, pull away window rubbers etc. to see if it was a decent respray or just a spray over. Check the a pillars and gutters and vents for signs of body putty over rust etc.
Good luck

Re: Good price 87 Hilux?

Re: Good price 87 Hilux?
Why do I think this bakkie has been advertised here before, a while ago? Or am I thinking of another one? I see it has a NW numberplate.
If it's in Klerkies/Stilfontein, I could also go view it for you.

Re: Good price 87 Hilux?
:wth: Well I drove all the way to Lichtenburg only to find a vehicle full of rust. I did not even toke it out for a test drive. Even the Procomp suspension look not to bright. And the search continues.

Re: Good price 87 Hilux?
This confirms my thoughts that this vehicle has been offered for sale before, and here in Stilfontein. I still thought what a great-looking bakkie, and someone reported back that it was a rust heap. Such a pity.

Jis, jammer Jumbo.
