Trip checklist

Post by Harold »

Vital to the planning of a trip is the “CHECK LIST” of what to take, especially if it is a long trip where you will need to be reliant on what you have - where there are no telephones, shops, etc. Here is a checklist that I have built up over a few trips. If you are in a group then some items need not be duplicated and can be shared amoungst the vehicles. For example there is no need for everyone to carry an axe, one is enough. Similarly if the vehicles are all the same (ALL HILUX’S) the spares can be shared, (but who needs spares with a Hilux?).

The question of what spares to carry is vexing one. The list is probably longer than it should be. What are the most likely problems you will have with a Hilux?

Comments on the checklist will be useful to everyone.

Hi Harold
This is a very comprehensive list.
What do you use the Catapult & marbles for?

I can only imagine that the "lastige" monkeys and small creatures “get it” (marbles ) if they overstep the mark or overstay their welcome? This is what I have seen other people use it for.

Ive been hearing about guys getting themselves Paintball guns with peperspray balls for selfdefence at home since they had to give up their guns with this new licensing laws.

I think (or hope) a shot or two with such a weapon would hopefully buy you some time to run away from an elephant
