Need some help please!!
Hi Guys
I need some help, I am a complete noob when it comes to 4x4's or 4x2's
Me and the wife decided to start being a bit more adventurous, so we are deciding to buy a double cab (tired of sitting at home on weekends...lol)
now here is my question:
I am driving a Subaru Legacy 3.0R at the moment, awesome car I must say, only one problem
It takes me about R450 to fill the tank and I only get 450km on a tank :shifty:
According to the computer I am getting avarage 11-13L per 100km, so without a doubt my car is heavy on juice
Now If got my eye on a 2007 Hilux 2.7vvti petrol, the new shape
I want to know will the hilux be worse on juice then my scoobie
Yes I will also be using the hilux for everyday use (city 2 city)
Or would the 3liter hilux diesel be better,
Also please advice on service cost's and reliability
Thank you in advance

Welcome.
If you go for 4x4, you go for adventure not for km/l.
I have a older 2.7 dc 4x4 and get 6.5-6.9 city2city

Die 2.7 vvti 4x4 is redelik swaar op die sous, i get between 5.5-5.9 km/l, but i must admit to having bigger wheels and raised suspention and steal bumpers, so my lux is expected to be slightly heavier on the juice than a stock 2.7 vvti, The 3.0 d4d gives very good km/l and has a bit more power than a 2.7, But i'm a petrol head, so i dont like diesels.
On relaibility all i can say is ITS A HILUX

Daarby skuld ek nou my KZ 'n nuwe silwer spieeltjie en voorste regter fender (wit).
Dankie

Pieter
I have got the same Hilux as you '99 DC 2.7 4x4 and I am getting 7.5 c2c and on the long road I get 8.
Ok buy saying that on the long road I don't drive faster than 130km/h.
Rudi
My voorstel sal wees die d4d.
Sterkte ek hoop jy kry jou 4x4.
Groete
Werner

My sal ek maar standaard hou.
