Petrol slips
Got this by email...
PETROL SLIPS
ALWAYS ask for a cash slip when filling up your vehicle's tank , even if paying with cash and even if you intend on throwing the slip away, because....
• The pump attendants take these unclaimed cash slips from the cash register attendant and sell these same cash slips to taxi drivers
• The taxi drivers then add these cash slips to their own and so claim a bigger subsidy amount from government, thereby not feeling the pinch of the fuel increases.
Send this to everyone on your address list… to prevent this corruption going on and the rest of us (non-subsidized drivers) suffers in silence.
You probably didn't even know that fuel for Taxi's is subsidized, which we pay for.

Re: Petrol slips
This is one of those mails that surfaces every couple of years. Worded slightly different but following the same lines.
It is similar to the suppose to be mail sent Nedbank telling people not fill up at BP and Shell, but we should support Engen because local is lekker. Truth is that Engen is still Mobil.
These mails and a few others were discussed in Financial Mail and the truth picked apart.
I think that you may believe what you want.

It is sad..... but as a treehugger and scientist I have to say- then you must also get an alternative fuel supply to use for your car as MOST fuel in SA is produced by the same people and just distributed under different names..... ot start to make alternative types of transport that do not produce gases....Karoo wrote:dunno bout the slip thingy but please boikot Shell and Sasol as they planning to do hydraulic fracturing in the Karoo for shale gas amongst a couple of other oil companies.
And..... do you use phosphate free products for cleaning- as this pollutes the scarce water supplies as well....
