What to look for considering a second hand buy

Post by Maverick »

Hi guys!

Some of you may know me from "before" when I was trying to buy a SFA hilux here in Sweden which is to be honest, impossible
I was thinking of a IFS cause there are a lot of them here, but naaaah, I want a SFA!

Importing one would be to costy + the steering-wheel is on the wrong side.

So, finally.....
I have found a SFA!

Ln65, 1987, diesel (don't know which one yet. Is the 2.4D the most common?) and 190k on the meter.

You guys on this forum know those vehicles better then anyone so what should I look for when I'm inspecting it?

Hi Per,
Looks nice on the photo. If you feel comfortable with it, buy it!

Anyway, it will be far different than the Porsche!

Enjoy!

Hi!

My bigger concern is the engine. Some say that it's VERY slow. I have only tried out the 22-re in a 1993 ISF hilux and that wasn't so bad.
The 2L (he said that it was a 2.4 N/A diesel so it must be the 2L) is rated at 83HP.

On the other hand, my workcar is a deadslow nissan serena with a 2.3 N/A, diesel. Can't be worse then that.

Well, I'm gonna find out on friday

My personal favorite is the 2.2 4y peterol engine.I know there are afew different models available abroad :?: .

Test drive the hilux and if you like the performance,go for it.After all, it's a Hilux. :yahoo:

Nah, the Serena will feel like a 911 twin turbo compared to the Hilux!

Well, is there any way to bump up the HP a bit on the 2L? There is a turboversion of the engine but that must have different pistons etc = expensive.

The enginepower was enough, it wasn't so slow as I first thought.

Due to some other stuff I passed the buy

Let's wait for the next SFA to show up in sweden! See you in two years? :laugh2:
