Swakopmund - Municipal Camp

Post by ThysdJ »

Has anybody stayed in the bungalows in the Swakopmund Municipal Camp lately? We are looking for accommodation for 3 nights in Swakop, and we want the security of a lockup bungalow where we can leave some of our stuff when we do day trips in the area.

We're not too fussed about luxury, but we also dont want to be chowed by fleas and other pests..  Is it worth staying there? Or should we look for alternative accommodation?

Ek sal glad nie aanraai om daar te bly nie. Die plek was baie verwaarloos die laaste keer wat ek daar gebly het en die matrasse was kwaai dun. Amampuri Lodge het veilige parkeerplek en baie lekker kamers.

My wife and I and my 3 kids stayed there Easter of 2010.
We had booked for 2 nights in a chalet and used Swakopmond as a base for visiting Dune 2 and 7 near Walvis as it is a much nicer town.

We found it to be such good value and such a nice place we actually extended our stay by another
2 days. Would we stay their again? Absolutely!
