re-spray

Post by Josh Edwards »

Hi Guys,
I'm set on re-spraying my bakkie gun metal gray, and the rims and alu canopy black, (fell inlove with the scheme on the ford pickup from the Discovery tv series Red Jacket)

The question is just where in the Western Cape area would I be able to have this done professionally and at a reasonable price? Bakkie has a bit of hidden rust and I think a bit of body work would need to be done aswell!

Thanks!
Josh

Careful of the gun-metal grey colour. I had a new car that colour some years back and it is an awesome colour, but the idiot who pulled out of a side street in front of me on the Potch-Carletonville road that I was travelling on claimed he just did not see me coming as the car blended into the road. I missed him by a hair's-thickness at 120km/hr. AFter that, I always drove with my headlights on during the day.

Thanks Jano, I will go past them sometime and get a quote and see what the damage is!

Eric, as for the color blending in with the road I never thought of that, I must say I also love the Land Cruiser beige, I see you had yours re-sprayed in this color? Are you happy with it?

Josh, very much so! It attracts attention at outings and when I fill up with petrol - an extremely l-o-n-g affair as it has 130-litre total tank capacity.

I recently fitted LTD rims and three people came to chat to me at Champion tyres while they were busy doing this, so it certainly does attract attention! ;)

The specific colour code is Toyota LC 4E9. No regrets! The original colour was a somewhat lighter Hilux beige but I decided to spruce Bulldog up a bit :)

I took mine to Robby just outside Durbanville towards Eureka. He sprayed the load body including the tail gate after cutting out sections in the wheel arches where there were rust. The price: R2500.
I'm very satisfied with the result.
PM me if you would like his detail and to see his work.

Net 'n vragie, want ek sou graag wou weet.

Hi Willem,

Hier is die detail... ;)

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1072

Groete,
