In Aid - Swaziland 4x4 weekend 21 - 24 Sept 2012

Post by Pietman »

Hi guys and girls
Let me start off with a brief description on what we are planning on doing and why we are doing it.
Elands4x4 is involved with assisting social workers at our local primary schools and High schools in Nelspruit. We assist with food for these kids as the only meal they get is the one provided by the school. We are also assisting with stationary, toiletries clothing etc. We are talking of 125 kids and the no is growing every week.
The big head ache at this stage is the long school holiday in December. During the holidays these kids get no or very little food to live from. I was approached for assistance last night at a meeting.
Now with the background out of the way, check what our plan is.
If you read the Wegry or Drive out Magazine you will see what we are planning. They did an article on this trip and it published in the September issue.
We are planning a Swaziland weekend trip for the long weekend in September 21 - 24 2012
The routes will be based on the old Reg-Raid held in Swaziland in the past and promises to be the hi-light of your 4x4 calendar year.
We will do outrides on 2 days and the total off-roading distance travelled will be approx. 70km per day. You will see places in Swaziland, not a lot of South Africans get to see. I will post some photos of our trip in April.
We will have 2 guides going along and the club will supply support and recovery service during the trip. Each family will receive a specially handmade memento to remember the trip.
The cost will be R1000 per vehicle and the cost excludes accommodation and meals.
Camp costs is R85 per person and half price for kids.
I will assist in making bookings for those joining us. We normally stay at Mlilwane Game park. Campsites are clean and prices are fair. There’s a nice thing for the kids to do and the staff is very friendly.
Please guys, all the money is going towards helping these kids and we are not making a cent on this. I don't want donations but rather a win - win for both parties. We give you an awesome trip and your money goes to helping others in need   .

kamp koste is R85 pv en half prys v kinders.
You are welcome to contact Reynard on o82 6o1 938o or info@elands4x4.co.za
or Piet on o82 45o 9452

• Ons behoort so 17:30 teug te wees by Mlilwane.
Ons eet elke dag so 12uur.

Laat weet my asb as jy nog inligting benodig.

Nog inligting van Reynard / Elands 4x4

"Hi Mark

Reynard hier

3. Ek kan nie dink da tons ‘n afsny datum sal hê nie, solank daar kamp plek oop is, is daar tyd. Ek sal vandag by hulle bespreekings hoor hoeveel plek beskikbaar is.
4. Wat on snog moet bysit, Ons sal seker so 4 voertuie wees van Elands, ons sal recoveries doen, en support, karre wat breek ens na kan kyk. Qualified Diesel mech saam. En daar sal ‘n tolk ook wees.

Hier is Mlilwane se weblink ook. http://www.biggameparks.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Groete

Reynard"

Entry Requirements - Visa
British passport holders and most Commonwealth citizens do not require visas for Swaziland.

Visitors will normally be given entry permission for up to thirty days.

This can be extended at the Swaziland Immigration Department in Mbabane.

All Swaziland border posts open daily throughout the year but hours of operation are variable

Hi Mofasa, I know if Visas are needed, you can get them from the consulate in Mbabane, but that is for other countries like Malaysia etc. British passport seems to be fine. I will see if I can get a clear message from Swaziland.

They have office in Pretoria and JHB.

Aanwysings na Mlilwane van die grenspos af.

Directions from Ngwenya/Oshoek Border

Distance approx. 49km; approx driving time 30min.

• Ngwenya Glass turnoff approx 5km from border – very worth a visit!

• Follow the main road from the Border towards Mbabane (about 20 km). Remain on this highway until you get to the bottom of the steep hill leading into the Ezulwini Valley.

There are 2 directions to the Park:

Option 1.

• Travel +- 8 km on the highway.

• Take MR103 off ramp (to Sun International Hotels, Lobamba and Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary).

• Travel +- 11km past the Royal Swazi Sun, Lugogo and Ezulwini Hotels, the craft markets, Gables Shopping Centre (Pick ‘n Pay) and Happy Valley Motel.

Option 2

• Travel +-17 km on the highway.

• Take Lobamba / Elangeni off ramp (also signposted “Mlilwane”).

• Turn right under highway towards Lobamba and continue up the hill +- 1,5km.

• Turn left at the next intersection.

• You will pass the Parliament Buildings and Memorial Park.

Then continue to follow these directions:

• …Pass the Caltex filling station on your left and travel +-500m

• Turn right to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary - onto a dirt road.

• Travel +- 5 km to Mlilwane’s Sangweni Gate (Open 24 hrs).

• Reception at the gate is open from 06h00 – 17h00. After 17h00 the night guard will allow you to enter and direct you to the Rest Camp, Reilly’s Rock or Sondzela Backpackers, where gate entry is paid.

Hi Gary, we have 1 spot open if you want to take it? I'm sure we will do this as an anual trip every year for the kids as we filled just about all the spots in 2 weeks.
