TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
Hi Guys
Need some input from the seasoned veterans. I have a 2009 Hilux Virgo D4-D that has gone for its 70 000 km service. Service guy phones and lists the following problems;
1. needs new thrust bearing
2. clutch slipping in 4th, needs to be replaced
3. Gear level is loose and bush needs to be replaced.
I have an extended Toyota warrantee on this vehicle, but he reckons only the thrust bearing will be covered. I need to fit the rest of the bill :wth:
Is this right or are they taking me for a ride here?

Re: TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
Hi, Stefan
Doesn't sound quite correct to me. Clutch at 70k should still be covered by the motorplan, but after that it would be for your own account, as it's a consumable item like tyres. As for the loose gear lever and thrust bearing, I can't see why that should be for your account. I've never heard of bushes on a gear lever, never mind them being worn out.
Fight them! Where are you servicing?

Re: TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
Sorry, off topic. My Father-in-law had two Jeeps and traded them both in on GWM, one is a Steed 5 double cab 4x4 and the other one is a H5. That should tell you something. . . .Scorpion wrote:That's why I'm asking - sounds more like he's servicing at Jeep...JEEPIE wrote:at toyotaScorpion wrote: Where are you servicing?

Re: TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
Nou bel ek en vra of my voertuig gereed is? Sies Toyota! Sies! en weer Sies!

Re: TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
Ek het toe gistermiddag naas my post die manne by Toyota gaan besoek.

Re: TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
Feedback on my saga.
Clutch and thrust bearing claim was rejected by Toyota. New gear level was replaced under warrantee. I have never in my life experienced such bollie service from a dealership. Over and above these issues, wiper blades were to be replace. I know its a small thing, but when collecting the vehicle, service guy says, he's you invoice and oh yes sorry they forgot to replace the wiper blades. Come back next week and we will do it for you. (thinking to my self - yeah right, this place will never see me again). The invoice was never explained to me. When handing the vehicle in, I requested that the headlights be reset/aligned and there was a small high pitched whistling sound. Neither of these to my knowledge have been looked at.
To top it of, they phone to say your car is ready, come and collect. Get there 30 minutes later, service dude says, just sit there for a while, they are just busy with your invoice. Eventually get the car, again service guy says here is your car, sorry we did not wash it, we had no water. I ask you with tears in my eyes, knowing that you have irritated a client to no end and then still tell me this. Again it can happen, but at least say that here's a car wash voucher or something, anything to make a client feel that he is a valued customer.

Re: TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTEE
I feel for you boet! Come to think of it, why should one have to pay for and extended warranty if nothing is covered? And why should one always have to fight first to get results?

Update on my saga.
Send email to service manager and to cut a long story short all I can say is my faith has been restored in the dealership and the brand. Hilux is going in next Tuesday for clutch replacement and all labour and parts are going to be covered.
Awesome is all I can say.
