LED Fog lights
I am sure many of you have seen these some may even work with them, I am interested in them
Many of the big long distance trucks I have seen on my travels around the country have LED Fog lights integrated into their bumpers, they are pretty bright and look similar in size and shape to the Hilux Fog lights.
Now I dont think I really want to replace my fog lights on my Lux but, my sister drives an old Ford Fiesta RSI, the sportier model with again similar size fog lights in the bumper, One of them is smashed from a stone having hit it, I was thinking of replacing both lights with these LED type instead of the stock lights.
Does anyone know where to get them? How much they cost?
Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Re: LED Fog lights
Know exactly what you're talking about, the other option to consider would be replacing both fog light fittings because those will be specific to that Fiesta bumber only, but instead of fitting standard lamps, replace them wiff LED lamps, hope that makes sense

Yip perfect sense. Thing is those lights I am talking abotu are pretty bright and if, costwise they are cheaper than the Ford version I would consider fitting them, but yes also if they would be easy to fit.

Mike, you have two "if's" (ie. two uncertainties), but really up to you. But explore and see how it goes, good luck.

Re: LED Fog lights
Those lights that you are talking about is in the Scania trucks, I was also looking into that conversion but unfortunately it is a sealed light and is 24V, the light itself is also much bigger than the Toyota light but the LED's is in the right place and would shine through the opening. The only problem is 24V.
A friend of mine is in the panel beating business with trucks so if you want a pic of the light I can make a plan.

Re: LED Fog lights
Thanks Gerrie. Its very possible but the 24v thing is something I did not consider, as far as I know all trucks are 24v, converting that would end up costing too much. Will look at the LED bulb option

Re: LED Fog lights
Yes Mike that is my problem too and the fact that the light is sealed you can't get inside.

Re: LED Fog lights
I might have a foglight I picked up next to the road where there was an accident. If I remember correctly it is a Ford foglight but not sure which one as I only saw the thing lying there. You can have it if you want and if it is for the Ford.
Regarding the led's I just pit in H11 led globes in the fog lights of the Terios. Cost something like R350 or so. No mods and so on.

This might be a bit of a late thought but keep in mind that truck fittings are for 24 volt dc and cars use 12 volt!
