Developed all the bits and part to a flat sheet 3mm mils steel (1250x2000). Lots of cutting, welding and grinding. I will post some pictures of the process all the way to the end product.

Dit lyk goed

. Ek is allergies vir grind (ek haat dit) - kry elke nou en dan iets in die oog - met 'n veiligheidsbril. Ek laat die meeste van die plate buig om van die grinding af weg te kom.

Next project will be rock slides! I'm chewing on some ideas, do not know where to start. Brackets will be tricky, I do not want it to be obvious and clumsy.

The final finish was Gloss Black powder coat, not a good idea it showed allot of the small bumps and grinding marks. Solved the problem with Duram Dura Bak epoxy. Must say it will last forever with powder coat as the base coat.

Looking good Louis and Rinus!

I skimped on the bracket bit to save weight, and allow for deformation at a certain point, to hopefully avoid twisting/ bending the chassis. It has handled collisions with the odd taxi, a warthog and a small buck without any sign of buckling or deformation. A full on collision with a car or larger animal will be something else entirely...

Weer tyd vir 'n bietjie terug voer. Was nie lus verlede week nie, want my spoed was gebreek - die kante van die bumper het ek te hoog opgelig aan die kante en toe pas hulle nie onder die trimming net onder die ligte in nie :? , maar ek kry Maandag my nuwes (Skoolgeld

. Regop lyk hy nie so mooi vir my nie. Ek is ook te bang die pyp gaan te laag wees en dit gaan nou moeilik wees om hom in die afsny masjien te sit - die lang punte is nou af waaraan ek hom ge-clamp het.
