Alarm issues

Post by NoddyMP »

Good evening all. I am currently having issues with my 2000 3000D hilux alarm. The factory imobilizer works, how ever when I activate the alarm and then open the door , the hazard lights come on, but the alarm does not sound. Any help on how to get the alarm to sound again would be greatly appreciated. No extra alarm systems have been added and as far as I know it is all standard.

Do you know if the siren is still working? Check for loose connections etc. if it is not. The other thing is that the alarm takes a couple of seconds to arm after pressing the button. How soon do you open the door after activating the alarm?

Test the siren by connecting it directly to the battery.

Is your bakkies horn still working? To my knowledge the alarm is connected to it. So if either the fuse is blown or the horn is not working, the alarm will not sound

The bakkies horn still works. And I open up the door in the mornings forgetting about the alarm. When the alarm goes off, lights flashing, there is a very slight sound, more a sickly crakkle. To check the connections, where does the horn and siren sit? Have checked all the fuses, none have gone.

Sounds like a bad connection. The alarm siren is usually installed on the right hand side in the engine bay
