Best rechargable AAA batteries
Hi guys,
I have the H7R head torch, i am looking at replacing the batteries.
Which are the best brand rechargable AAA people have been using. What should I be looking out for when buying new batteries, amp hours??
Thanks

Okay will def have a look at the Drive out
Can some one explain Amp hours or milli amp hours to me
How does this effect the brightness of the light (at max setting) and the duration of use!
And also the duration of charge

Re: Best rechargable AAA batteries
Here is a great response from some one off the fishing forum where I asked the same questions.
Purely for your infomation.
I am a photograher and use rechargeable batteries in my flashes.
I have done fairly extensive research on the most efficient/cost effective options. On DPreview, probably the worlds most active photography forum, the guys rave about Sanyo Eneloops but I found them quite hard to find here and also expensive. I came across Uniross Hybrio's and they have the exact same technical specs as the Eneloops and very likely made in the same plant/factory in China with a different label.
You can get the Uniross Hybrio's at Clicks and Builders Warehouse. They are the "new generation" of rechargeable's that come fully charged and do not lose their charge if left unused like the old rechargeables did. I am very satisfied with their porformance.

The higher the amps the longer it will last. The brightness of the light will remain the same (for all practical purposes) unless you increase the voltageMusselcracker wrote:Okay will def have a look at the Drive out

Re: Best rechargable AAA batteries
I think the standard batteries that the H7r came with are either 900ma 950ma... I don't have the torch with me unfortunately.

Re: Best rechargable AAA batteries
My 2c: The mah indicated on the labels can be very misleading. Some batteries claim serious mah without producing good results this is especially true for cheap chinese brands. With rechargebles I prefer duracell, uniross and energiser.

Re: Best rechargable AAA batteries
900mah is very low. I have quite a number of GP's that rate at 1800mah and 2000mah which were bought in 2002 and 2004 respectively and have been in use since. They're now getting a bit 'tired' and since their original use (camera equipment) is now redundant, I use them for stuff like wall clocks, remote controls, wireless mouse / keyboard, etc, etc ....TOYODA wrote:900mAh
Point being, if successfully functional 2000mah units have been available already 10yrs ago, why buy / use 900mah ?

All of the photographic outlets will have .... used to power flashes and cameras. You could also try hardware / electronics outlets and even guys like Game and Incredible Connection should have.
