Bernie,

Ps. As ek reg is, is jy uit Bloem uit met 'n 4.5 Cruiser?

More!

Hier is my Facebook blad as jy sou belangstel.

Everything is done strategically oom Bernie, and the main reason is we would never hear the end of it when he gets that certificate, I think they're just playing it safe. :lmao:

Ok,

Let me put the cat amongst the pigeons here....

The Unit Standard training has it's origin for govt and corporate institutions that needed a standard against which to train....Im sure we understand how and why so Im not gonna explain that now.

The "pie" in the sky was that with a DCC (Driver Compatency Certificate) you would be allowed in ecologically sensitive areas under guidance....not a bad idea.....so where are these areas you might ask?? This is where the problem now comes in.....these areas where to be identified and then enviromental impact studies would be done...so how far are they with this?.....these areas havnt even been identified yet.......impact study is a minimum of 18 months to two years......

Im sure you will see what the benefit of a "DCC" certificate is now.....absolutely nothing guys!!! Where do people go on their 4x4 holidays? Neighbouring countries.....and then that certificate is worth nothing......and PLEASE.......Im NOT knocking training at all......by all means get trained please...Im just saying.....dont let people bullshit you with it's gonna be law one of these days etc.....know the facts......

My two cents worth!!

Enjoy your Monday!!

Bernie most of the guys here KNOWS I am pro training.

My first trail was done with friends - with one chap taking out time to teach a couple of newbies the ropes ....

then a couple of Andrew's CD's, also the Safari Centre CD's.

Only then did I get the opportunity to do official training - training for the sake of training, not for some paper/certificate.

Much later I did the RPL thing and obtained the certification.

I still recommend training for the sake of training - somehow the whole mood changes when it is done for a piece of paper ....

It is just better for your vehicle and the environment when you KNOW how to get the best out of your vehicle.

sadly the worst abuse of nature I have seen had NOTHING to with training, but everything with the testosterone levels of a young playboy intent on showing off ..... doubt training will stem his testosterone levels ....

strange how vocal SA is against guides ... yet see how we use guides for the prestine trails/routes in neighbouring countries ...

Welkom hier Bernie

Dink dit is n goeie idee maar pas dit in by n program wat se naam "That 4x4 show" is en nie "That 4x2 show" nie.

Hi Jaans,

Groete

Bernie

Arme kind is totaal verward .....

Intussen is sy pa se dag kar n VW Caddie, mamma ry n Sirion.

en toe raak dit weer tyd vir my om nog n speelding aan te skaf vir die man ....

Is there anywhere I can find more info on the heidelberg 4x4 route? See on facebook only a tel no. Is it open to the public? Must be close to us and sounds like an outing that might be worth the while.

How serious is the trial ito rating? 3/4 or more? Can one attempt it alone or rather not...

Thanks and sorry for all the question...

I would rate Heidelberg 4x4 trail with a max of 4 (vehicle damage possible). The majority is nice and easy going and great fun. There is a play area where you can get into some trouble if you are not careful.

And if it rained this play area gets even more interesting.
