Hi
You shouldn't have a problem just deflate the tyres to .7 or .8 bar and keep stopping to a minimum when going through the town as the sand can be thick there from traffic

If a Nissan 1400, Corsa and Uno can make it, I cannot see why not!

Re: 2x4 to Ponta do Ouro
I had less trouble going in to the elephant reserve north of Ponta with a heavy load than I had coming out with much less load. Pap tyers, momentum, no hassles.
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

We took a Colt two by four to Kosi bay. Think you will be fine if it doesn't rain.

Moet net nie momentum verloor nie. Sou jy vas sit blaas dan net jou bande meer af.Moenie worrie daar is altyd meer as genoeg mense om jou te help sou jy vas sit.

Re: 2x4 to Ponta do Ouro
I had a 2.7 IFS for a long time, 2x4. I went where some 4x4 owners stressed, and this taught me one thing, stay within the lines and keep your momentum as suggested, never try to accelerate excessively if the sand when sand starts slowing your momentum, you will dig in within a blink. Rather let the motor stall and reverse back and try again with more momentum.
Last but not least, do not go look for trouble and you would be fine!

Go early while the sand is cool, and don't always bargain on help, those dunes can become lonesome at times.

Re: 2x4 to Ponta do Ouro
Thanks for all the replies! Now w that I know we can get there, do any of you know the lodges below? Which one is better for self catering basically.
Paraiso do Our or Ponta Beach Camp - beach front en suite units?
Quotes came in relatively the same but I have not been to either. Comments/advice etc? Main thing is Braai facilities. Or do I take my own?
Thanks a mil!

Re: 2x4 to Ponta do Ouro
I specifically did NOT use my difflock in the elephant reserve, despite the deep sand. Reason being the many sharp turns - I was afraid the difflock would have the opposite effect than intended, causing one wheel to spin and dig in corners, or drag and build walls...
Had no issues with difflock off, used it once only when I got stuck on a straight section, and only to reverse out.
