Information on VIN number

Hi
If I want to check up on a VIN number.The history actual kilo's etc. Do I just phone Toyota and they will give it to me or how does one get the info.

If you know someone that could do a Trans-union report for you, most car dealers should be able to. I got a rep at Inspectacar to do one for me (5yrs ago)

The problem is, if Toyota gives the information, it will only be on what was done by them. What about the backyard jobs.......

here's that thread...man it was a decent looking vehicle...but ja...

the HPI would give you the mileage upon inquiry for settlements etc as well from what I was told, but only if it's logged...in my case the report was drawn in 2010 with the last entry in 2008
