2006 double cab 4.0V6 Raider 4x4

Post by Cookie Monster »

Hi guys I need help quickly I am thinking of coming back to the hilux fold once again :D:

I have a chance to buy a 2006 4.0V6 4x4 Raider double cab for R170000 with 226000km on the clock. Is it worth it at R30000 over book retail and if so what must I look out for? Going to look at it early tomorrow morning. Sorry for late question.

Really impossible to say with the information at hand.

Personally I would find it hard to pay more than book value. Even with extras fitted.

Older cars like SFA Hiluxes easily fetch way over book value but I dont think the Vigo are there yet.

Awesome machine I have the same year model. toughly the same kilos and I paid R160K 2 years ago if that helps, and yes the tupperware had been replaced with ONCA front and rear.

That bakkie had better be in better than showroom condition to justify that price.

The Bakkie is in awesome condition. I can clearly see the load body has never been abused. It has full service history with a Toyota dealership and one previous owner. The mileage has mostly been long road use. It has new shatter proof windscreen fitted and the front bumper has been panted because of the usual stone chips associated with open road driving. It also has a brand new set of Copper Discoverer AT3 tires fitted. I will post photos when I get a chance.

Regardless of how the bakkie looks this guy will battle to get trade from any of the dealers. Especially with those miles.

Having had the exact same bakkie myself, including year model, I must admit the price is crazy!
There are many V6's on the market today and one of the biggest reasons is the fuel consumption.
Lovely to drive, but eish!
If this is going to be your everyday drive or if you intend driving it regularly, I suggest you think more than twice...

Thanks for heads-up James my previous hilux was alot heavier on fuel so I am aware of its thirst for fuel.

Enjoy the ride Justin and you will ALWAYS get your money back as the Hilux will always keep its resale value but I dont think the stealers will come to the party. There will be another private buyer out there when the time comes for you to sell.

Yes Justin I agree. Enjoy her! It is an awesome vehicle. When I buy a used car I am prepared to pay a little more when I find a really clean car.
