2004 Hilux 2.7i Gearbox and Diff Oil replacement

Post by Cbotha15 »

I've just completed a 220000km service on my Hilux and I decided to go ahead and change the front and read diff oil as well as the gearbox and transfer case oils. I cannot recall the last time it was replaced, so I decided to do it now just for good measure.

The question is brand and type? (Synthetic vs Mineral). I can't say for sure what was used previously. The service manual specifies 75W-90 grade oil for both the diffs and the gearbox/transfer case. Can I use the same oil or is it better to buy separate transmission and hypoid gear oil?
