Let it not be said it takes little work to rebuild a hilux
Since the last update, we got quite a bit of work done.
Gents, who ever decides to rebuilt/rewire the harness of one of these newer tech bad boys with sensors and solenoids vir ALLES, sterkte ou boet!
My wiring is about 75% complete, gona be using full e-throttle like was intended, if it gives me hassles I'll chuck it and go cable.
To get to my 2 knock sensors to check the plugs and trace the wires, I had to remove the intake manifold, decided to have a look inside as I had to install 2 new sensors, MAP and Intake Air Temp.
Underside of the Manifold. Quite a lot of petrol "dampe" and what else was inside, friend said some places chuck a bit of petrol into the mani to help it start on the floor when customers come round to buy them, whatever the case it got an overhaul and clean etc. Must say them guys with the thick glasses knew what they were doing, something that would have been nice is to have a sort of stepper motor on the runner control actuator rather than an full open full close, but it works.
The end is in sight, at least to get as far to start the motor and hear it come to life.
Got Exhaust Headers, made to clear the chassis with a bit of extra runner length, hopefully it will free up the motor some.
38mm Runners, with 63mm exit flange. Will be a single pipe system, as I need Air Fuel Ratio Wideband Controller and it needs to be fed from both banks of the v8. Also I'm hoping it sounds better than avg raspy jap v8 .
So the project is coming along, slowly, but we're going in the right direction.
Will try to update more frequently as we go along.
