Packing system from recycled material
Started this afternoon building the frame for what will eventually be a packing system for my Hilux.
I am using zincalume angles to build the outside frame. We received them inside packaging to make the structure strong and protect the parts inside from possible crush damage.
I'll be getting the medium duty 1.0m sliders, and you will notice a third brace, which will be the place for lidded bins. Sometimes you need a place for stuff you do not want all the time, and having it packed way deep is not much of a problem because you might only need it when in the camp. I've managed to complete the top and bottom part of the frame in approx 3 hours with help from my wife Nadine and my son Elgar. As you can see Elgar was busy with quality control.
Laying it all out:
During the process of riveting:
Fitting finally to see it in relation with the bak itself:
I'll be cladding the whole frame in 6mm laminated ply. Pictures will follow:

Dankie Mark.

Re: Packing system from recycled material
Dinge begin nogal besonders goed vorm aanneem.

Re: Packing system from recycled material
Nee jong Mark, ongelukkig het ek gaan kyk hoe lyk Maputo. Is vanaand eers terug.
Uys, jy is reg.

Re: Packing system from recycled material
Paul, weet nou nie of jy gaan dink dit lyk heeltemal so great wanneer ek klaar is nie.

Some more progress.

Re: Packing system from recycled material
Alles net vir so paar sente minder as R800-00.

Re: Packing system from recycled material

Re: Packing system from recycled material

Re: Packing system from recycled material

Re: Packing system from recycled material

Re: Packing system from recycled material

It is the coolest set of wheels on the road. I wish the Hilux had 75% of the space inside its cab.
And it is a Toyota..... So how can you demerit me?? I am entering an official complaint....
It is the most practical car you can even think of, space in excess and extremely fuel efficient.
You also get this as the Toyota bB in Japan or die Subaru Dex.
