Yip, my present to myself for the new year.

My current Landrover Freelander Td4 is a bit slow, and its a lease car which has to go back next month.

I think the improvement from 82kW of diesel power to 225kw of 3 liter twin turbo power should be noticable :D :D

My wife is happy cause its got 4 doors....

Daai 225/45/17 Bridgestones was so ~R 2400 elk laas jaar toe ek uitgevind het.

Die prys was een van die groot redes dat ek nie 18" wiele gekoop het. Michelin was so ~R16700 'n stel.

Dis te veel, en ek werk vir n bande vervaardiger. Verskoon my as my Afrikaans nie so suiwer is nie.

You must remove the centre speakers from ontop of the TV, rather mount it to the wall of make a stand for it, the reason why I say this is because the magnets in the speakers will effect the picture of the tv, try it and see the difference, I also have a TV similar in size to yours, I have been watching it the last few weeks, day in night got this dvd player, old video vhs player as well as DSTV but the Compact bundle, I find channel 106 and 260 the best to watch, channell 106 is Action movies and channel 260 is National Geographic.

I also have a sound surround system, but it is not connected correctly, too many damn wires for the TV, DVD and VHS and decoder, I do have the speakers connected correctly to the amp, maybe you can take a few pic's of yours and show me how your wires connect up?

Enjoy

cheers

I can take a few pics for you np. The speakers are sheilded and are designed to be placed near a CRT TV so I dont have a problem with the magnets distorting the image.

Justin, what do you normally watch on the HT system? I enjoy my live bands mostly, I've got very few movies. Can't really watch a movie more than once, but Music Lives on forever!

But it also depends on the size of the room that you have your system in, also on what furniture you have in the room as well, it is funny that when you go to a shop that sells music systems, they have this little room and OH the system sounds so nice and clear, but it is built for such a thing to give you a better impression of how the system works, here at my home I have a sound surround system, "connected" in a fashion to my TV, DVD,Video recorder and amp, but what a mess it is, it was re-connected a few weeks back by a guy who sold me the new DVD player, but he has made a mess up with it, I basically connected the speakers into the amp, that part is correct, but the part of where the wires go from the amp to the tv, dvd and video recored as well as the decoder for the DSTV is a mess, have phoned him twice to come back and sort it out, but he has not come yet, do any of you have any drawings showing where the wires go.

Seems like you've got quite a collection.  Mine consist of some afrikaans music as well :)

I've also got a DVD here of a group called Stomp. They make music with everyday items. Brilliant :) Ihad it specially imported from the US of A. :)

Simon: If you take pictures of the connection of all your devices, I can draw you a schematic or diagram of how to connect them all (and where possible make and model). You can mail me the pics. Send me a PM if you're interested. :)

I enjoy reggae, however if I listen something that I do not enjoy, I just turn it off and play something else.

Must admit the picture on the DVD cover influenced my purchase. But that was when she was still a looker! Long before her Michael Jackson antics. Oh yes, and I got to quite enjoy the music as well :)

Nope... our Eskom is fine, it's either there or it isn't! ` I have even run the system on the gennie with no ill-effects. The HT easily drowns out the noise from the gennie :) The guys on the AV Forum get VERY carried away, hearing things that are not there! Even my valve amps, with their simple unregulated power supplies, varying, say, 10% from 230 ~ 250V cope perfectly!
