Hi All
Again, first of all, Sorry. I posted my request for people to join me on my 4x4 outings this easter in the wrong section (Wrong Province).

Our second trail was across the Outeniqua Mountains using the Old Voortrekker Ox wagon Route. We did that one alone It is mostly a scenic drive. We drove it backwards first. We didn't want to drive AROUND the mountains to start from the other side near Oudtshoorn and drive back across the mountains to Wilderniss. We drove across it to there, and across it back again . The first part (for us) at the foot of the mountains was forest. Green, with streams and pools you can swim in and smooth dirt road.
The further and higher we drove, the more rocky and difficult it becomes. It wasn't very difficult, I'd rate it a maximum of a 3.
At the top it's VERY rocky and you crawl in 1st low for quite a while. I don't have any pics of that part for you.
Across the mountains and arriving at Louvain (Where the trail actually start) we tackled the OLD obstacle course on the farm itself. There's 15 abstacles of various difficulty that they used for competitions, but it's not maintained any more. I wont rate that obstacle course higher than a 4.

Now THAT was fun and challenging. SAN Parks ordered that track be left alone so that it can grow closed (so your vehicle WILL get scratched a lot). That piece of road isn't maintained anymore and a part has washed away. I checked the GPS afterwards and the last stint to climb from bottom to the top is an elevation difference of 237m!

We started the day out very late and ended up hurrying to get off the pass before sun down.
