Civil Servant's Hilux

Post by pietpetoors »

I post this on behalf of Civil Servant:
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=626
Need assistance
I'm a regular guy with an addiction to 4x4, a junky for as long as I can remember, but never could afford a 4x4. For the last 2 years I have been buying SA 4x4 magazine and especially enjoy the 4x4 challenge section. Finally I got my first 4x4, a 98' Isuzu Double Cab 4x4 which my wife purchased for me, with a lot of resistance for the powers that be. I've done a few tracks with the Isuzu and the bug has bitten me harder than ever.
Last year, I attended an event at Rust de Winter (Jamboree '07') with family. The first thing I realised was that my Isuzu was not up to the task. It's my vehicle that I utilise for the everyday commute to work, and if it were to be put through its paces there I might end up short.
I decided then and there to buy a vehicle to do the more serious 4x4'ing, a "toy". Not long after Rust de Winter, I purchased a Toyota Hi Lux (not sure what year, maybe '84') that needed serious attention before it would be up to the task. I'm now currently trying to rebuild/restore it from scratch, now I am struggling to get my hands on parts. The agents tell me that they've the parts (but only on order!). As I am sure most know parts from agents can cost one an arm and a leg, I have to work strictly according to a budget, that is rather slim or almost non existent. To get a hold of second hand parts could be a risk in its self, but they too are slim pickings. With all this it is making it nice challange for me to finish "toy".
The other option that I have and recently realised was that I may need a sponsor if I really wanted to do professional 4x4'ing.
Please could you advise me on what I can do to complete my "toy" or what one needs to do too get sponsored. If there is away that somebody out there can assist me. It will be highly appreciated, my contact details are as follows:
Cell: 0824966177
E-mail: JacquesLeRoux72@gmail.com or 27824966177@vodamail.co.za
For a dream to be realised on my own is going to be a challenge but with assistance it could just be realised a little sooner than if it were attempted alone.
Yours faithfully,
Civil Servant

Ewald

Jy kan altyd my ryk oom wees (maar nou nie soos in Jurie oom nie   )en groot XMG op my Lux kom verf in ruil vir 'n nuwe motor

Dear Civil servant
I can really associate with your problem, but unfortunately you have to accept that 4x4=$$$$$$$$, some good news on the other hand N1 4x4 outside PTA sells a lot of Toy spares that the agents claim only they sell at 1\2 the price

Soos julle hom sien so het ek hom gekry. Geroes, sonder shocks, sonder sitplekke( Wil graag "Bucket seats" insit.)

:( Probleem 4. Elekries. Wat weet ek daarvan, :D het darem Toyota Hi Lux (Haynes Repair Manual) Bestaande harnas is terug gesit, maar of hy werk moet ek eers battery kry.

Ek wil hom bitter graag klaar kry vir hierdie jaar se Rust de Winter

Jacques, omtrend die engin,as die manne saam met my stem, sal ek eerder n brandstof inspuiting gebruik.Dit gee minder probleme.Maar doen eers jou huiswerk goed.Moenie my woord vat as n beslising nie.

Hi Civil servant

Read these two links about the EFI conversion. Dunno if costs are mentioned.

Hi TOYx4

Enige raad?
