I have ponderred about this for a long time but is still undecided.
Has anyone tried or successfully installed the central locking kits available from autostyle.

Your thoughts........

I installed the kit without the remote but it had the ability to connect to the alarm/imm system which worked with a remote, worked fine.

That was quite a few years ago (2003/4??)

I have a problem now in that the driver door doesn't lock the rest (passenger door do), but it still opens all the doors. I think maybe there is a broken wire, maybe my installation wasn't optimum, because the wires are susceptable to pinching in the door.

For R250 it's a bargain, even if you have to replace it every few years. I think I'm going to order another one.

tnx. Chris

I assume you did this on the hilux, cause one of my concerns was the power/force of the mechanism, if it would be powerfull enough to push up the locking button?

Hi Micheal,
was there a problem with the remote or receiver, from what I can gather the central locking still worked.
My frustration is that the family comes allong for the ride most of the time and I'm getting "g vol" of dislocating my shoulder to open the locks manually for them.

Basically I'm only looking for central locking, turn the key or push a button and all doors open once inside push down lock button and all doors lock. remote activation will be a bonus. :yahoo:

Ek het een van hulle'n jaar terug installeer met 'n druk skakelaar langs die stuurkolom om maklik oop en toe te sluit.
Hy werk baie goed. nog nie 'n probleem gehad nie.

Yes I did. The buttons should move freely through the hole, also the adjustment is very important, otherwise not good.

I have one in my SFA. Bought it with the C/L installed. Works with the alarm remote. No problems at all.

I have central locking installed in Bulldog, never had any problems with it. Once you have it, you will never go back to manual locking!

I installed this to my Capri and after a year one of the motors broke gears inside, lucky for me the Capri only have two doors so I had two spare motors. I also installed a kit into a friends Ford Courier with no problems so far.

Those black ones dont last. You need to get the yellow ones they are stronger and their motors are strong. A bit more expensive but worth it. You can buy those yellow ones from Shurlock.
