When a laitjie wants to dice.....????

Post by Christian Kuun »

....and pulls up in his kief dropped Corsa wiff m@erse freeflow thumping in my mellon, do I shift into 4x4 so that I have double the traction, but also double the drive, or do I stick in 2wd and rather have kwaai wheelspin and only half the drivetrain to work?

Which one will be faster and will I break anything like diffs and propshafts if I m@er it hard in 4???

2wd works better, when it's wet or gravel, pull away in 4wd, then pull it back to 2wd once you're in 2nd gear

What can break?
* Diff
* Gearbox+transfer case as jy 4wheel gebruik
* Propshaft

So that means you drive around with locked hubs permanently. 2wd is the way to go.

get a Jeep GC V8 quadra drive, where it engages and disengages 4x4 as needed and not needed, and you can just jump on pedal all the way, no wheel spin, and leave the corsa in the dust!! whilst keeping cool with one hand still free!! :laugh2:

You could alwayse use 2WD Diff Lock to pull off and disengage it once you are going. The problem is that the Diff Lock needs to be engaged properly before pulling off otherwise if you get wheel spin on pull off and it suddenly engages ... :shock2: enything could happen. You could also take the mature decision and avoid dicing altogether. Why lower yourelf to their standard anyway? :boss:
Just because it says "4WD" doesn't make it an off-road vehicle.
