i am new here and tried to search for this, but no success!
i am sure there must be quite a few wright ups on this?
i have currently a 99 prado front and rear brake system as well as 96 80 series cruiser system.

The 80 series, if it's the smaller discs.
The Fj75 front system bolts straight on

Re: sfa brake conversion/upgrade?

Re: sfa brake conversion/upgrade?
The FJ 75 discs are the same diameter, but they are vented, we make spacers that fits inside your std caliper to accomodate the discs.
The KZTE calipers bolts straight on, use the FJ 75 discs, they have larger pistons and they use bigger pads.
You can use your old front discs, move them to the back and fit a set of Audi A4 calipers, there is two brackets to be made, but it has a built in handbrake.
The KZTE rear drums and backing plates also fits the SFA, they are much bigger and stops much better.
Don't forget to adjust your load sensing valve at the back, this sorts most SFA brake problems.
The KZTE booster and master cylinder also fits the SFA.
There is other upgrades, but the above is all "bolt on"

Re: sfa brake conversion/upgrade?
hoppy,
it looks like the most straight forward conversion will be kzte calipers,fj 75 discs, kzte booster and master cyl and audi a4 calipers rear.
thanks so far,but do know about the fitting of the 80 series stuff or the prado?
the reason i am asking is-i think(have not made a comparison yet)that the these calipers and dics are bigger than kzte.(and i have it in stock)

Re: sfa brake conversion/upgrade?
That is the best way and straight forward.
I'm sure you'll be able to make them fit, but they won't bolt straight on.
I'm going to have a few sets of brackets made up for the Audi calipers.

Re: sfa brake conversion/upgrade?
Hi Guys
Iits been a while since someone posted here, hope you are still active on this. Im busy with a lexus conversion, a 6 week project now 5 months going :wth:
Anyways, the next step is to upgrade the brakes. I would like to look at this KZTE conversion in front with FJ75 Rotors, and KZTE master cylinder. Has anyone done this, and have some estimated costs? Where can I buy this?
Im thinking N1 4x4, but they are not the cheapest.
Then rear what is easier, adding the bigger KZTE drum brakes, or converting to the disc and uadi calipers? What about the braking distribution between front and rear? The USA kit (to expensive) includes a valve to manage the braking between front and rear, is this not needed? or do you play around with the Load sensing valves?
As my Hilux is now, the rear wheels lock up quickly, if I adjust it to brake more in the front, in feels like its not braking at all??
I have allot of extras on, and 33" BF Muds, and now when the V8 is done Im gonna need propper brakes.
Please comment and give me some insight and info please.
Thanks guys

Re: sfa brake conversion/upgrade?
ok,
firstly i did not read so lekka what hoppy said about which calipers and discs!
so i bought two new kzte discs and machined them like the powerbrake ones!(drilled and slotted)
any body interrested-you don't have to pay for the machining-just the discs!
2x alpha discs for kzte front-new and machined-R400.00
