Hi all
Just joined. I am still driving my KZTE 2002 model (145000 km on the clock). When it was new I got around 8.5 -9 km/l The last couple of years my consumption has realy dropped. I woul be lucky if I ever got 8km/l
Presently I get closer to 7km/l. The vehicle has been serviced regularly. Any ideas why and wanybody else with similar milage??

You are one of the lucky ones to get 9km/l with a KZ, I think the majority get around 7 - 8km/l average. I could be wrong.

Shhhh... we don't talk about the fuel consumption on the 2.7 4x4 we only talk about the reliability

Re: KZTE DC 4x4 consumption
Ok, thanks for that. I was thinking of getting it done at SAC but now I think it's better to go for used D4D DC 4x4 in the new year. I use my Van to launch my boat and don't really want to put a new Van in the seawater.

Re: KZTE DC 4x4 consumption
When I got my 2.7 I got 7.5 to 8 and as I grew use to it the consumption dropped to 7 to 7.5 (sometimes even 6.5). I know with me I was careful in the beginning but now I drive it with passion.
Might be that your drop in consumption can be due to change in driving style as well. I doubt that on those kilos it could be injectors.
Have you done any mods in the mean time like:
lifting the vehicle
adding a roof rack
fitted bigger tyres?

Re: KZTE DC 4x4 consumption
Fuel consumption on my 2005 KZ towing a Skipper tent trailer over 6200 km was 8.33 km/liter.
Must admit we were on holiday and very seldom exceeded 120k/hr.
Around town we get between 7.5 to 9 km/ litre.
Mods are iron man bumper and winch, alu canopy and nothing else.
