So once again we have almost reached the end of another great year with a lot to talk about, and what better place to do it than at our year-end function?



It has been quite a long struggle for me to find a suitable venue but I might just have found it. A place where the whole family can have fun and not just for the boys with their “Toys”.

The venue is situated +-20km from Middleburg, roughly 2hours from JHB. This will be a camping weekend. Arrive on the Friday and leave on the Sunday. They offer something for everyone from easy grade 2 to 4 obstacles, A rock climbing obstacle for the more adventurous, Horse riding, Abseiling, Paintball and the list goes on. Now unfortunately the costs are slightly high but have been assured that it is well worth the price. Depending on the amount of people going we will have the whole place to ourselves. Oops, almost forgot that he mentioned that there will be 6 LR’s there for the weekend as well but will be on another campsite. There are clean facilities which use “Donkeys” for hot water. There is also electrical points all over the campsite. We will also have full use of the lapa. There are braai facilities. The owner has also suggested that we do the abseiling as he said it is an unforgettable experience and I for one have always wanted to do it. Waiting for costs.

We will also be doing a whole adventure sort of thing for those interested. Which is included in the price. For this we would require a few items which I am sure we can get together between us. The items are: Tree list, Road map, 4x4 Map, 4x4 desctiption (Not to sure what that is), Hiking map and out Indemnity form. I have no idea what it entails but sounds like fun.

I would like a few volunteers who will be willing to assist me with a few ideas I have. 2 will be enough.

Now the costs in total for the whole weekend will be R515 (2 adults, trail and entry). It is R75 p/p per night camping and R25 per child under the age of 10, R200 for the full trail and R15 entrance into the gate. The owner is also able to supply us with a “Bakkie load” of wood for R500. Now this is an extra cost which we should decide on and then split the costs.

Daar was n slight error in the total cost, Rafs will fix for me. Die R150 is vir 2 nagte.

It's a nice drive with a very challenging section called aapstreke if I remember correctly. There is also a awesome viewing point where you can look out over the valley.

I see there is a little confusion. I didnt explain correctly. It is R75 p/p per nite camping an R25 per child under the age of 10. So Cassie you were correct. I almost confused myself. Limit of 50 people in total. LR have decided not to go as they were afraid that we would need to recover them, a direct quote from the owner.

Total for 2 people is R515.

Payday is on the 25th, hoping to keep some money for this weekend and i do hope the boss is kind enough to pay us on the friday....

Just wanted to find out if we could join on Saturday morning and camp Saturday night?

We have Cub & Scout activities happening on the Friday night so won't be able to leave until Saturday.

If that is possible what would the price be?

2 x adults and 1 child aged 6.
