Hi Barrry.
I crossed it a couple of days back around Xai-Xai.So can not really say what it will look like around Pafuri, but from what I saw was that the levels is quite low and there has not been much rain yet,so I doubt you will have a problem.
Where are you going.I am in Nacala now and will be heading to Pemba in a few days time.

Not sure how much rain there has been since we crossed at Pafuri... but it was very, very low .That was in July this year.... Just had to cut through forest to get to that river crossing just after the border post... don't think the track is used very often... We also never knew what to expect before we got there but it was shallow...

Ons het ook daar gekamp en hulle was lekker goedkoop.Ek dink 200mets per persoon.Ons het sommer met ons Visa kaart betaal.Ek dink mets is die beste.Jy trek dit sommer by 'n bank.
Baobab is lekker maar dit is 'n backpackers so die mense kuier maar laat.

Barry,
The SAPS at the Pafuri border post are very helpful; check with them at 0137358937
They would be able to tell you what the level is (the more popular route to Vilanculos is via Mapai, you should be able to cross their quite easily
Enjoy
