Zone 7 is an excelent venue, most important, there is shade, they have a fully stocked bar and grill, but you are welcome to braai on the side, it beats watching your rugby team lose.

It seems to happen like that every year, where the 2 challenges clash...
Guys and girls please come and support Hoppy Junior and co-driver Hoppy senior. The competition is tuff, the trail is tuff, and most often there is only one or two Hiluxes driving the event. Your support will be most welcome. Come and make a day of it... It's dusty, hot or muddy, and slippery, but tons of fun... and we can all be proudly Hilux 4x4 and proudly Hoppy Junior...

I don't even have time to finish my EFI . . . .
And all my money's going into the wife's Isuzu Frontier 4x4 she just got . . .
On the other hand, maybe it's a good thing. I tend to drive like a hooligan when that 4WD light turns on on the dash

Dit is niks nuuts dat die engin op die vloer le net voor n challenge nie.Wat wel nuut is is dat dieselfde engin terug gesit word en nie n ander een nie.Geniet dit.

Re: WCCC 4x4 Extreme Challenge 2013 Calender

Was 'n lekker dag. Werner se eerste dag agter die stuur by 'n kompetisie en hy het baie goed gedoen
Ek het nie tot die einde gebly nie, weet dus nie wat die uiteinde was nie.

What a day! The obstacles started off near impossible and stayed that way throughout the day, i am not the co-driver type and Werner made me sweat, shake & grab, guess it was payback? Thanks for the support from the Hilux club & friends, you were awesome, (Check out Luxter's new Bonnet sticker!). O, and some of you might remember how long it took for me to win my first challenge, Werner, at 16, Won his first challenge with 70 points to spare, i am SO proud, you won't believe! ...he still has to fix Luxter's door this holiday, that he won't get away with.

Yip Allan it was a tough day. Zero was a common score on some of the obstacles. Hot, dusty, windy, and very tough obstacles. Werner you drove like a star, congratulations on entering and winning on your first day.... Allan well done for being an amazing mentor for your son, and Suzette for encouraging and supporting Allan and Werner all the way... Just had to chuckle on the one obstacle, the toughest of the day, Suzette said she could'nt watch it and gave her camera to Werner's friend to take photo's, the next time I looked there she was taking a video, brave girl... Great to see so many faces from the Hilux 4x4 club there in support.. So I am going to clean some of the dust off my camera and see if I can get a few shots on a little later...

The door got dented when Werner reversed in this ditch, I wondered why Allen don't have rock sliders on Hopster

Our very loyal supporter/photographer/friend watching some lip-biting Werner-move, i wasn't the only one stressing!
Werner pulled it off, she was pleased!
Think his dad owns a tyre shop
...or a Laundromat
Even pavement-tractors can kick up dust
Testing grip limits
We have a very capable lady team, she takes home more trophys than hubby, that must hurt!
Amazingly there was a few Jeeps built without Hilux components, they didn't win...

Re: WCCC 4x4 Extreme Challenge 2/3/13 Zone 7
Okay so a few photo's from the day...
A soft, sandy, very tight turn.... and just a little dent visible on the drivers door from earlier in the day, a small price to pay for the excellent result at the end of it. Maybe a case of the 'end justifies the means'
The landy hung there for a while we all took cover from the dust...
Six shots later they were still looking pretty comfortable...
At another obstacle, we had a lesson in articulation... very noisy clunking sound...
Roverland decided to take one to the nose.... the crowd gasped in anticipation of the flip, but to no avail...
Luxter was eased down into the dip
About the time Allan was holding onto the door remembering what it was like holding the steering wheel instead... as Werner gently eased Luxter into the water...
