Hilux4x4 Marshals - Gauteng

Post by Ali3n »

As of recently a new perk of being part of the Hilux4x4 Club is that we have started a marshal unit. This unit has been asked to assist in a few events as of late.

Purpose of this thread is to introduce this to the non-club members and see what the interest is like.

Marshal duties
You as a marshal get placed at your respective obstacles by the Chief Marshal. You are then in control of the obstacle. As the competitors complete the obstacles you do the scoring. You are also responsible for safety at your respective points. Once you have been "stood down" from your marshalling point you have done your part.

Guys, this is fun and you can ask any of the current marshals. We have a jol. Besides that you get to learn lines, see different vehicles using different methods and in turn you increase your knowledge. There are a few more benefits that I am not able to share on the open forum unfortunately but you are free to ask any questions.

We are after a DEDICATED team. We know unforeseen things happen and thus the more people we have on the team, the better. Should someone have to withdraw suddenly, we would like to be able to call on the next guy/girl for the job.

Please also take note that you will not be required to attend all events. We want to have at least 20 teams of which +- 13 teams will be called upon per event.

A marshal team consists of 2 people. Works great if it is a husband and wife combo but can be any 2 team members. If you do not have n team mate you will be paired up with someone so don't be shy, put your name up if you are willing to be a marshal.

Being a marshal at any event will cost you nothing.

Please note that this is currently for Gauteng and surrounding but we hope to spread to the outer regions in the future.

Who of you would be interested in becoming marshals?

A strong rally in gold, particularly toward the end of the week, could have enough momentum to keep going next week and could set the stage for an eventual target of the $1,400-an-ounce area.

Me personally would also like the sticky type. I think we will get quotes for both and order accordingly. That is to say that we go with this route.

Guys what about a sticker for the top of the windscreen with mebbe "logo Marshal logo", much like Cleaner's Bridgestone sticker but a bit smaller so that Jeepie can still see out of his windscreen.

ok heres another idea you havent thought of
when i had the sxs sticker kit done in pta , i had a look at another product the guys do
its a prforated sticker , black on the inside - logos etc on the outside
it filters the view to the inside but you can see out
alot of these "buy a car for R690-00 / month have them on
you can put them on vehicle window without obscuring the view .
???????

Some might find it too big and out of personal experience, a hi pressure washer tends to lift the sticker once it is slightly older.
